A two-day packed conference and a week full of activities. It’s soon time for The Conference and the smorgasbord of festivities – The Festival – that will explore human complexity. But what to choose from all the goodies? Here’s a guide of the delights we’re looking forward to go to!

DESIGNING FOR HUMAN BEHAVIOUR IN PUBLIC SPACES WITH INUSE
TUESDAY SEPT 4th
First day of The Conference and the theme seems to be the digital-physical hybrids with virtual realities and technology. In the talk BROKEN PROMISE LAND they will look at how digital solutions are used to rethink the interaction between government and the civil society. Can we design an internet that works for, and not against, us?
WEDNESDAY SEPT 5th
Second day of The Conference. Oskar Eriksson, Industrial Designer, and Mathias Walter, Design Strategist, are interested in these two seminars:
WHAT IS REAL?
“What Is Real seems like a very relevant and interesting seminar. The interface between product and user becomes more and more seamless, with advanced motion sensors, projectors and voice recognition. The way we think about what is real and "fake" is probably going to become more blurred in the future. The transition between the digital world and the real world no longer have a clear distinction in some cases. It's going to be very interesting to see what possibilities that will emerge from this new form of storytelling and interaction.” – Oskar, Industrial Designer, Zenit Design
INNOVATION IS FOR EVERYONE
“I’m looking forward to listen to Tendayi Viki on the topic of how to work smarter with innovation in large companies. He’s a very inspiring and updated speaker, and his thinking is in many ways applicable to the design process!” – Mathias Walter, Design Strategy Lead at Zenit Design
THURSDAY SEPT 6th
Being subjective we of course think our MAKE EMPATHY YOUR SUPERPOWER is the thing you should go to. But, because we’re sold out, we also have another more objective delight for you. BREAKFAST WITH WOMEN IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP and listen to Charlotta Falvin about leadership. Perfect start of the day with breakfast, mingle and a bunch of inspiring people!
FRIDAY SEPT 7th
Or as we like to say it, FRIYAY. Here we have three things we would like to go to!
TACKLE COMPLEXITY – SERVICE DESIGN AS A TOOLBOX FOR CLIENTS AND PROFESSIONALS
As a product and service design consulting agency we use a designers toolbox daily to solve challenges and tackle complexity. Here’s some insights from Service Design Network Skåne, a network we also are members in of course, about what service design is and how it works.
YOUR PRODUCT IS A STORY
This workshop is for designers, developers, writers, and anyone who wants to be better at telling a story about their own product. Learn how to look more deeply at the experience of your product and how you can guide your user/customer through your content.
USTWO MASTER CLASS – GETTING REAL AT WORK
Step up your feedback game, dump assumptions and build better teams. A class of how to collaborate and work better together, which we think all teams continually need to work with.
And that’s a wrap for this years The Conference 2018! Follow their tag #theconf to get an update of all happenings during the week or share your own stories. See you in #themalmo!
