EARIN'S BRIGHT FUTURE – PURCHASED AND PART OF MUSEUM

2018 is a good year for the Malmö based startup company Earin. The wireless earbud makers start with two big news releases: the international tech company Will.i.am scoops up the startup and, secondly, they leave their technology and design breakthrough for the years to come.

Earin launched their first product during 2015 after a Kickstarter campaign the year before. Three years later they are about to release their second generation earbuds and in the same time getting purchased by the Black Eyed Peas frontman and tech entrepreneur William Adam’s company Will.i.am

NEW POSSIBILITIES TO GROW
As design partner to Earin for the true wireless headset we are happy to see the opportunity the acquisition gives the startup, getting purchased by a big tech company. Becoming a part of a corporation that are known for testing and investing in new tech – like AI and smartwatches – Earin can really use the upside of the great platform Will.i.am is for new product development. With their new possibilities and muscles for innovation we are excited to see what kind of products and services the two companies can come up with together.

COLLECTION FOR CONTEMPORARY DESIGN
Besides having a bright future, Earin also now leave their tech mark visible for years to come. They will later this year be part of Sweden's National Museum collection

“I’m happy to announce to you that we have incorporated your headphones Earin in our collections (we received this generous gift from Earin after a request from us) when we find them to be a fine example of contemporary design, nor the least of your great concern for the visual and tactile details.” wrote Cilla Robach, First Curator of Sweden’s National Museum Collection, to us at Zenit Design in an email about the exhibition.

The National Museum is the Swedish state museum of art and design and their design collection includes artifacts from the 16th century to today. The new exhibition for the museum opens up again in October 2018. You can read more about Earin as part of the collection on the museum here.
