Always be meticulous from the start, the attention to detail will definitely pay off. A bad start will be very difficult to adjust later in the process and will not only be frustrating, but also time consuming.
Decide what the main focus should be on your model. Should the outcome be true to the product look and feel, or should it simply display function? By picking a lane, you save a lot of time and can focus all energy on one goal.
Every creative knows that if there’s a way to work smarter and not harder, you take it. If possible, use machined parts or 3D printing as a base for your model and then finalise by using your craftsmanship.
